THE WEEKLY GROUP IS BACK ON AT BLACKSTOCK GREENHOUSE
MEET AT Blackstock Greenhouse, 24 Rock Street, N4 2DN www.blackstocktriangle.org
This is a drop-in session open to all.
If you are new to meditation - This is for you!
Voluntary donation of £2 is requested.
This is a space to be still, connect with and raise our inner awareness - our "big mind".
We have the chance to honour ourselves and the earth we walk on.
Through focusing on the breath we slow down, develop an awareness of mind and heart, of our inner being and inter-connectedness with the world .
Meditation has a rich and ancient tradition in world culture and is as useful today as it ever has been. Its not always easy to do but is always rewarding.
There is usually a guided sitting and walking meditation
PLEASE NOTE: IMPORTANT ADVICE
In order to be comfortable please bring a firm cushion, a yoga or roll mat and a small blanket as most of us sit on the floor to practice and it is not carpeted.
Chairs are available for people who prefer or need seating.

Loving Kindness meditation
May I be well...
May I be happy...
May I be free from suffering
and the causes of suffering holding on and pushing away
May my heart be filled with
love light and laughter
May I be at peace with myself and all beings around me
May I make progress along my path to clearest understanding
We ended last nights session with this beautiful meditation which is all about the quality of compassion we can cultivate in our hearts for other beings..friends and foe!
Expressions that came up to describe compassion were "tenderness...care and kindness...forgiveness...acceptance...being porous with others..."
These qualities are at the core of transition within and we can grow them like plants in the garden of our hearts with the right conditions, care, commitment and attention.
Imagine...imagine...imagine...be here now
Be still
Imagine a quiet peaceful place in your heart
In the garden of your heart
Plant seeds of love for yourself and those you can see all around
Smiling

beautiful and fair and lovely
is made for the eye
of one who
sees"

We met at Blackstock Greenhouse for the first time and sat inside the tunnel. It is an interesting space to meditate as it is open to the skies and yet enclosed,it felt like being in a tent, and you can feel the light changing as the day draws to an end and the moon rises.
Paul said he felt the atmosphere was refreshing, well certainly the ambient sound was a rich mix of inner city life and even some birdsong which is encouraging as two birdboxes {a result of the reskilling workshop) have been put up "for rent" by any local tweeters!
Most of us were on meditation benches, another result of reskilling woodworks and at the end there were a lot of positive and contented smiling faces....come and try it sometime, you never know???
Thanks to Ben for offering this new practice space....
Here is a Zen reflection.

IN BEAUTY MAY I WALK
In beauty may I walk
All day long may I walk
Through the returning seasons may I walk
Beauty I will be
Beautiful birds
Beautiful joyous birds
On the trail marked with pollen may I walk
With dew about my feet may I walk
With beauty may I walk
With beauty before me may I walk
Wtih beauty behind me may I walk
With beauty above me may I walk
With beauty below me may I walk
With beauty around me may I walk
In old age wandering on a trail of beauty, lively may I walk
In old age wandering on a trail of beauty living again
may I walk
It is finished in beauty
It is finished in beauty

Thanks to everyone who came tonight. After low turnout last year capped by me turning up on my own for the last time it was encouraging to meet four new faces and realize that there is a wish for this session.
As a group of five we created a tranquil space together and after making our altar which is a mix of candles incense and any special heart felt objects people wish to bring we sat in silence, breathed in and out and let ourselves dissolve and melt into a quiet powerful space where the big mind of just sitting and being can get a look in.
After some walking meditation to relax and another session of sitting and listening to Terry's singing bowl and some Zen* words of wisdom it was time to snuff out the candles and say our farewells. There's nothing quite like it really!

In the beginners mind there are many possibilities, but in the experts there are few. The beginners mind is the mind of compassion"
